Dream and Destiny

As I finished reading the Alchemist, I lay on the bed with a blanket all cozied up. The raining season can do that you. Such weathers and books can make you believe in love. And so did this book. It might just become one of my favourite books of all time, rest being Harry Potter Series (obviously the classic) and the Shiva Trilogy by Amish.

“It’s the possibility of having a dream come true that makes life interesting.”

Paulo Coelho, The Alchemist

I lay on the bed I tried to absorb everything I just read. Tried to make sense of it. Staring at the ceiling and watching the fan move. Watching above at the white ceiling like it there was a movie playing on. The Alchemist. I finally understood why people all over the world loved this book. As a kid whenever I tried to read it, I found it boring. But now it is one of my favorites. What an irony! How quickly things change. It just shows how much I have changed and so have my thinking and views. Someone did say… People say every moment, every day. They evolve.

There is only one thing that makes a dream impossible to achieve: the fear of failure.

Paulo Coelho, The Alchemist

Just like Santiago who dreamed of the desserts, I dreamed of the mountains. But unlike him, I didn’t see any treasure hidden but just found myself more alive in the arms of the mountains. I live on with the hope that someday I will get a chance. I dream on with the desire to get that chance. And I feel sad that maybe I would have fulfilled my dream had it not been for COVID-19 situation. But as people say, the longer you wait, the better you get.

It showed me that you do not have to be great, to be a legend. We all can be our own legends. But most of fail to go on the path of our dreams. Our fears stop us from listening to our desires and our hearts. All of us dream of doing it big, but most of us don’t believe in ourselves only and take the safe boring path. No doubt the life tests us, and the biggest test happens just before we are about to succeed. After all, after the darkest hour of the night comes just before the dawn.

People get old and regret not doing things that the heart told it to do. After all, no matter how much we try, we can never silence the heart. It tells us, that maybe, maybe if we took that leap of faith then things would have been different.

I don’t know about all the others. But I will go and seek my treasure. After all, wherever the heart is, there we will find our treasure.

So if there is anything that I want us to take away from this post it is this:

Be passionate.
Be you.
Don’t be afraid to fail.
Overcome fear.
Follow your personal legend.
Maktub, it is written, “what you seek, is seeking you” Rumi.

It the end, I would like to ask, the question Lucifer asks in the series, “what do you desire?”

(Hope you liked what I wrote here. If you did share it with your folks, like, comment and subscribe. Duh!! I sound like a YouTuber. But never mind. Adios! And don’t forget to leave your fears out of your system for once and all. It only stops us from being our greatest. )
